UF Health has dedicated an ambulance to mobile stroke care, and CELS helped them prepare!
The Mobile Stroke Treatment Unit (MSTU) is useful for dispatch in situations where a stroke is suspected to have occurred. By deploying the MSTU, EMS can provide time-sensitive stroke therapies that save brains and save lives. For this simulation, CELS worked directly with Alachua County Fire Rescue to facilitate a learning environment aimed at maintaining a quick response time for patient care while using the MSTU.
the clock is ticking!
Rapid Response
Our simulation started with the initial scenario which the Alachua County Fire Rescue may encounter

For a service such as the MSTU, it’s beneficial to have all healthcare professionals familiar with and accustomed to working within the space they will be primarily operating within. CELS was more than happy to meet with staff and facilitate the same quality of simulation outside of the Harrell Building.
