The Learning and Assessment Center (LAC) staff is dedicated to creating an educational environment conducive to the teaching and evaluation of clinical skills.
Maria H Velazquez
Dr. Velazquez oversees all of the Learning Center resources used for teaching and evaluating clinical skills of medical students, residents, dental, nursing and physician assistant students. Dr. Velazquez works in collaboration with course faculty to plan and administer learning activities that enhance the educational program.
Carolyn F Stalvey M.D.
Carolyn Stalvey, MD, is an associate professor in division of general internal medicine, within the department of medicine at the University of Florida. Dr. Stalvey also serves as a physician at the UF Health Internal Medicine – Towerhill clinic. Dr. Stalvey earned her medical degree completed residency at the University of Florida’s College of Medicine.

Thomas J Chamberlain MD
Dr. Chamberlain trains standardized patients as well as physical exam teaching associates who are essential to the teaching and assessment functions of the Learning and Assessment Center. He also assists other staff members in the preparation, administration and review of many different types of clinical training sessions and exams. He is a graduate of the University of Florida College of Medicine and has completed an internship in Family Medicine.
Anna B Larson
Mrs. Larson participates in training standardized patients for instructional and evaluation activities conducted in the Learning and Assessment Center.
Javin Lee
Mr. Lee manages the video recording of standardized patient activities and clinical skills examinations for use by College of Medicine students and faculty in the Learning Center.
Thaddeus P Walsh
Mr. Walsh manages the video recording of standardized patient activities and clinical skills examinations for use by College of Medicine students and faculty in the Learning Center.
Vernon Hampton
Mr. Hampton is responsible for answering the phones, greeting and directing all visitors and recruiting and scheduling of standardized patients.
